EastEnders plot: Amy's inheritance frozen as Craig Ingram attacks her
Police suspended the account holding Amy Mitchell's funds, prompting a violent reaction from the ex-detective who kidnapped her.
By Charles Reed ·

Craig Ingram struck Amy Mitchell at their bedsit after learning her inheritance account had been frozen. The ex-detective blamed the teen for the suspension of funds and demanded she find a solution.
The attack occurred after police successfully suspended the account. This move came after a breakthrough in the search for the missing teen. Lily discovered that Amy had accessed her money using Charli’s iPad. The team relayed this detail to law enforcement, allowing them to freeze the assets.
Craig and Amy first met when the ex-detective questioned the teen about a local attack. Over several months, Craig groomed Amy into a relationship. Jack Branning learned of the connection between his ex-colleague and the teen. Before Jack could intervene, Craig drove Amy away from the Square.
Jack sought assistance from Sean Slater. Slater is determined to make Craig pay for his actions. The group worried that locating the couple would be difficult because Amy had already accessed her inheritance early. The discovery of the iPad connection changed the dynamic of the search.
With the account suspended, the race is on to locate Amy. Jack fears for her safety because Craig has lost access to the money he was counting on. Sean suggested that Denise Fox record a video message for Amy. He hopes the plea will encourage Amy to return home, given her strong bond with Denise.
Actor Matthew James Bailey, who plays Craig, spoke about the character's evolution. He noted that viewers have seen Craig present a charming side to win Amy over. He explained that Craig also played on her insecurities regarding self-harm. Bailey described this as a false vulnerability used to manipulate her.
Bailey stated that the next phase of the storyline reveals a darker side of Craig. He said the character can no longer hide his true nature. The actor described the manifestation of this dark side as horrible. Viewers will see a side of Craig that has not been fully exposed previously.
In other scenes in the Square, Gemma Hawkins continues efforts to make friends. Ned finds a job for Ryder. Linda Carter urges Lee to go a week without drinking. She also suggests accompanying Nancy to an antenatal class. Lee arrives and causes a scene during this interaction.
These scenes air on Tuesday, November 3, at 7:30pm on BBC One. Viewers can also stream the episode from 6am on BBC iPlayer. The episode follows the immediate aftermath of the account freeze and Craig's violent outburst.
