Disney+ and Hulu will release the first two episodes of season three of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" on Friday, Nov. 20.
The series has adapted Rick Riordan's novels into a television format since its initial launch. The first two seasons covered the early adventures of the main characters. Production for the latest installment is based on the third book in the series, titled "The Titan's Curse."
Walker Scobell continues to play Percy Jackson, while Leah Sava Jeffries portrays Annabeth Chase. Aryan Simhadri and Charlie Bushnell return as Grover Underwood and Luke Castellan, respectively. The core group also includes Tamara Smart, Daniel Diemer, Dior Goodjohn, Jason Mantzoukas, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Adam Copeland in their previous roles.
The new season adds a dozen actors to the ensemble. Kate McKinnon plays Aphrodite, Jennifer Beals portrays Demeter, and Ming-Na Wen takes on the role of Hera. Other new cast members include Dafne Keen as Artemis, Holt McCallany as Atlas, and Jesse L. Martin as Frederick Chase. Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie join as Nico and Bianca di Angelo.
In the newly released trailer, Scobell's character warns of an impending conflict between the gods and the Titans. He states, "There is a war coming between the gods and the Titans and if we're going to survive it, we must join forces." The official synopsis explains that Percy must rescue Annabeth after she is captured by the forces of Kronos. He plans to free a bound goddess and confront a dangerous prophecy.
The Walt Disney Company operates both streaming platforms where the show will air. Following the initial two-episode drop, viewers can expect two new episodes every week.
