Leicester Tigers scored 10 points while Bristol Bears played with 13 men, a disparity that determined the Round Five result at Ashton Gate on Friday night. The visitors defeated the Bears 22-16 to move to the top of the Gallagher PREM table.

Bristol Bears held a 6-0 lead in the sixth minute when Louis Rees-Zammit scored a solo try. The wing received the ball 35 meters from the try-line, stepped inside to evade two defenders, and crossed under the posts. Leicester responded quickly with a try from Freddie Steward following a cross-field kick from Billy Searle.

The Bears lost two players to yellow cards in the first half. Center Matias Moroni and fullback Tom Jordan were both sent to the sin bin for high tackles. During these periods, Leicester scored 10 points, including a try by Adam Radwan who collected a long kick deep in the opposition 22.

Leicester led 12-7 at halftime. Nine seconds after the restart, Ollie Hassell-Collins added a try for the visitors, extending their lead. James Williams kicked three penalties and a conversion for Bristol, securing a losing bonus point for the home side.

Bristol Bears captain Fitz Harding remained on the field for the majority of the match. Replacement scrum-half Kieran Marmion came on but chose to secure the bonus point rather than attempt a kick to the 98-meter line in the final moments. The Bears' handling errors, particularly from Adam Radwan and replacement Will Wand, limited their attacking options in the second half.

Jamie Blamire scored the final try for Leicester in an unstoppable lineout drive. Billy Searle converted the try but missed his third conversion attempt, keeping the score at 22-16. Ollie Chessum, the Leicester captain, was named player of the match for his performance in the set pieces.

Referee Luke Pearce officiated the match with assistant referees Karl Dickson and Jonathan Cook. Stuart Terheege served as the Television Match Official. The Tigers' victory was cemented by their ability to convert set-piece opportunities while Bristol struggled with possession.
