Emmerdale's Sadie King pivots to Ross Barton as her scheme against the Miligans wobbles

Sadie King, played by Patsy Kensit, is moving against Caleb and Ruby Miligan through Ross Barton as her effort to split the couple comes under strain. Sadie has been telling Caleb that Ruby has a drink problem and telling Ruby that her husband objects to her independence. Ruby then stops drinking, which removes the angle Sadie had been working.

With that path closing, Sadie swaps Ruby's drink for her own when no one is watching. Vanessa Woodfield, played by Michelle Hardwick, has commented that Sadie has no love life. Sadie responds by flirting with Ross Barton, played by Michael Parr, and getting him to dance. She then sends Ruby over to take her place on the floor.

Caleb arrives to find Ruby collapsed on top of Ross. He leaves angry. Sadie tells Caleb that Ruby left the pub with Ross. Caleb then sleeps with Sadie. The next day, Caleb prepares to confront Ruby, and it becomes clear Ruby did not spend the night with Ross.

Ruby's memory of the prior evening returns, and she realizes Sadie sent Caleb the wrong impression about where she went. Cornered, Sadie says she acted out of concern. Later, alone with Sadie, Caleb tells her she has to move out. His brother Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, had warned him Sadie would ruin his life.

Emmerdale airs these scenes next week. Sadie holds leverage from the night she spent with Caleb, and the question is whether she leaves or stays in exchange for keeping quiet about it.
