Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman should trade running back Saquon Barkley and other key assets before the Nov. 10 deadline, according to Marcus Hayes. The column advises the front office to act quickly while the team's stars are still healthy and valuable.

The Eagles currently sit at 2-6 with a six-game losing streak. Hayes notes that only three teams in the Super Bowl era have made the playoffs after starting 2-6. None of those teams had Tanner McKee starting at quarterback or a No. 1 receiver sidelined by a hamstring issue.

Hayes identifies Barkley, left guard Landon Dickerson, linebacker Zack Baun, tight end Dallas Goedert, and kicker Jake Elliott as potential trade targets. He suggests that defensive tackle Jalen Carter is also a candidate if a team is willing to take him. The column proposes that the Eagles could also include Moro Ojomo in the mix.

Barkley, who turns 30 next year, has dealt with hamstring and back issues during his first six seasons with the Giants. Hayes states that Barkley deserves another chance to win in a new environment. Dickerson has one more push in him despite injuries to his knees, ankles, and back. Baun is a Pro Bowl linebacker who turns 30 in December after three high-mileage seasons.

Goedert holds the franchise record for playoff catches with 56. Carter recently signed a $152 million extension and is viewed as the most important player on the defense. However, Hayes points out that Carter is also the least consistent and least popular player on the unit. Ojomo is described as a cheaper option who earns his money every snap.

The salary cap implications of these trades might hurt the team for a year or so, but Hayes argues that time is not of the essence. The Eagles are more than a year removed from their Super Bowl LIX win. The team needs to stockpile draft picks to trade up for a quarterback in the future.

The column also addresses the team's coaching staff. It suggests that offensive coordinator Sean Mannion should be fired immediately. Head coach Nick Sirianni may also be let go if not after this season, then next. The defense remains stout, but special teams have given up big returns, and punter Braden Mann committed a shank.

Hayes concludes that the Eagles need to rebuild with draft picks. Stashing picks requires shedding talent and salary. The team has lost six games in a row, with each one worse than the last. McKee, a third-year, sixth-round pick, is years away from competence.
