James Blunt, 52, stated that BBC audiences did not witness the complete sequence of events during the penultimate episode of Celebrity Traitors. The singer said that the full extent of the roundtable interrogation was edited from the broadcast. He claimed the segment shown on television did not capture the intensity of the questioning directed at James Acaster.

Blunt asserted that the group of Faithful players cornered Acaster before he formally admitted to his role. The comedian had been suspected after Ross Kemp was eliminated in the castle. The remaining Faithful turned their attention to Acaster, Maya Jama, and King Kenny, who had avoided suspicion until that point. Blunt noted that Acaster was effectively pinned down before he confessed.

The singer described the unedited moment as clear-cut and heavy. He stated that Acaster did not simply fall on his sword as the broadcast suggested. Blunt told the publication that the comedian was pinned to a post and the group truly got him. He added that the way the scene played out on screen has not been fully revealed to viewers.

Michael Sheen shared a theory during the aired episode that Acaster had murdered Kemp. The comedian immediately admitted he was an unwilling Traitor after Sheen directed suspicion his way. Acaster later said it was a surprise when the suspicion shifted to him, given he entered the roundtable with no heat. He noted that he was glad the group caught him.

Blunt mentioned that he was screaming at the screen during certain moments of the series for a different reason than typical viewers. He stated that no matter what happened inside the castle, participants are victims of the edit. Acaster said he had been contemplating the roundtable reveal for some time after becoming the show's first reluctant Traitor.

Metro contacted the BBC for comment on the unreleased footage. Celebrity Traitors is currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
