One hundred and two officers from Avon and Somerset Police responded to Bristol Beacon on Sunday, November 1, after a security team received a hoax threat. The large police presence surrounded the venue, where a cordon was set up while investigators assessed the area. The intervention occurred just after singer Skye Newman finished her performance, part of her The Survival Tour.
The venue staff initiated a precautionary evacuation of the audience. Most fans had already exited the building when the call came in. The smaller group of people still inside left the venue quickly and safely. No injuries were reported during the process.
Police conducted a full assessment of the situation before clearing the area. The venue confirmed that the space was declared safe after the review. Authorities have not yet announced if any arrests were made in connection with the incident. The police force is currently being contacted for further comment on the case.
Skye Newman, a 22-year-old singer-songwriter, shared updates on social media while in Bristol. She posted a picture of her dressing room door and reposted a fan video. The video showed her walking barefoot off the stage, right in front of the barrier. Her debut single, Hairdresser, was released in 2025. The tour continues across the UK.
A spokesperson for Bristol Beacon stated that the precautionary evacuation was undertaken after the hoax concern was raised. They noted that the majority of the audience had already left the venue. Those remaining were able to leave quickly and safely. The spokesperson added that Avon and Somerset Police attended to carry out a full assessment of the situation and the area was subsequently declared safe.
