Philadelphia’s fifth consecutive loss came at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, 38-21 on Monday night. The Eagles (2-5) are now in their longest losing streak since 2016, and without Jalen Hurts, who is expected to miss the rest of the season due to blood clots in his lungs, they have little hope of turning their season around. Tanner McKee, who completed 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception, was unable to match the performance of Dak Prescott, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns.
The Cowboys, who are still in the running for the NFC East title, got help from DeMarvion Overshown, who sealed the win with a pick in his first game since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1. The Eagles’ defense offered little resistance, allowing 416 total yards with an average of 6.4 yards per play and 25 first downs.
The Eagles’ loss came as the Cowboys played for a division title that’s up for grabs. The Giants lead the division at 4-2-1, and the Cowboys are the only team with two division victories.

Lurie is an Eagles Hall of Famer. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame. Lurie bought the Eagles on May 6, 1994, and since the turn of the century they have been one of the top franchises in football. The Eagles are one of three teams to play in four Super Bowls since 2004 and have won the only two titles in franchise history under Lurie’s ownership.
