Club Brugge has ruled out selling striker Nicolo Tresoldi to Arsenal or any other club during the January transfer window.

The decision was reported by the Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. An unnamed board member at the Belgian champions told the publication that no offer would be accepted for the forward this winter.

The newspaper reported that Brugge considers Tresoldi not for sale, even if a massive or astronomical offer arrives in the upcoming window. The report also said a major European power would receive a firm refusal should it make a move.

Arsenal has been linked with a move for Tresoldi. The club was reported to be exploring a potential bid for the striker amid questions about Viktor Gyokeres' future in north London. Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also reported to be admirers.

Tresoldi, 22, has scored nine goals in his first 13 appearances for Club Brugge in all competitions this season. Last season, he was the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 19 goals in 40 league games, two more than his then-teammate Christos Tzolis.

The Germany under-21 international scored a hat-trick against St Truiden on Sunday in a 3-2 victory. It was his third hat-trick in 26 days for club and country.

Tresoldi's contract with Club Brugge runs through June 2029. The report from Het Nieuwsblad indicated that the situation could change in six months, when the club would not slow the player's career by blocking a move.

Brugge head coach Ivan Leko has called this a vital season for the striker. 'This season is vital for him. It's his second year to build on and confirm all the talent and potential he has,' Leko told Flashscore.

Tresoldi told DAZN after the St Truiden match that his focus is on scoring. 'It's nice, I'm scoring a lot of goals and that's the most important thing for me, and, of course, to win the games,' he said.
