Voters across Bucks County will determine the outcome of the 1st Congressional District on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. This district includes all of Bucks County and a small portion of Montgomery County. The vote contributes to the national contest for control of the U.S. House of Representatives, where all 435 seats are up for election.

The race for the U.S. House is expected to be highly competitive. Republicans currently hold the chamber with a margin of 218 seats to 212 over Democrats. A party needs 218 seats to maintain or win a majority. Pennsylvania is one of the states with the most contested races in this cycle.

Statewide, residents will also decide whether to reelect incumbent Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro. He faces challenger Stacy Garrity in the general election. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the 2026 general election.

In the state legislature, the General Assembly has specific stakes for the day. Half of Pennsylvania's 50 state Senate seats are on the ballot. Republicans currently control the Senate with a 27 to 23 majority. They seek to maintain party control, though several competitive districts may threaten their narrow lead.

All 203 state House district seats are also up for election. Democrats currently hold a two-seat majority in that chamber. Residents can verify their specific U.S. House, state Senate, and state House districts online using their address.
