Detectives and FBI agents spent Tuesday combing the 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philadelphia.
They collected physical evidence to build a timeline for Jalayshia Alford, who has been missing for over a week.
The 10-year-old was last seen wearing a blue school uniform and glasses. She stands 4 feet 11 inches tall.
Investigators are reviewing conflicting statements regarding the home where Jalayshia lived in foster care.
Her aunt, Nyfisha Allford, described the search as urgent given the child's age.
"It's horrible she's a baby," Allford told reporters.
Her uncle, Nafis Horne, expressed worry about the mental health of a relative involved in the case.
He noted that he is concerned for two lives now.
Family members stated they had not seen Jalayshia in two years but previously sought custody.
Allford recalled that Department of Human Services workers visited her home during that process but then stopped communication.
"We just thought she was safe; clearly, she isn't," Allford said.
Authorities ask the public to contact them with any information about her whereabouts.
