Multiple police vehicles, including armed response units, converged on a rural area in Northumberland after a public report regarding a Newcastle United defender.
Amar Dedic, who moved to Newcastle from Benfica for 30 million pounds this summer, was seen walking with a friend along a track by a reservoir on Military Road. The location is near the small village of Harlow Hill.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson stated that officers received the report shortly after 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4. The report described two men carrying a bow and arrows while walking.
Police stopped a vehicle in the Darras Hall area and searched it. Officers seized the bow and arrows during the operation. The investigation concluded that the equipment was for recreational use and posed no threat to the public.
Reports indicate that Dedic and his companion fired arrows in the countryside during the outing. It has not been determined what specific target they were aiming at.
Newcastle United confirmed that Dedic will not face disciplinary action for the incident. Police enquiries into the event remain ongoing.
