Jalayshia Allford, a 10-year-old from West Philadelphia, was found dead in Lindenwold, New Jersey, on the night of Nov. 4. Sources said that her body was located inside a car at the Stonington Court Apartments in Camden County.

The child was last seen on Oct. 26 at a residence on the 500 block of North Simpson Street. She lived there with her foster family. Police previously described Jalayshia as a child who may be at special risk of harm or injury.

Investigators are reviewing conflicting accounts from adults connected to the case. No further details were available immediately after the discovery.

Jalayshia's biological father, Nazir Allford, spoke with Action News on Nov. 4. He said he is struggling to cope with the situation. "All I'm concerned with is my child. I'm not concerned about nothing else," he said.

Nyfisha Allford, Jalayshia's aunt, said the family is experiencing pain due to a lack of answers. "It's really so much pain in not knowing," she said. Nafis Horne, Jalayshia's uncle, stated that the father loves his daughter and the family vouches for that bond. Court records show Nazir Allford pleaded guilty to charges related to interference with child custody. Family members called on the foster parent to speak to the news.
