Burger King to open second fast food site at Longwell Green retail park

Burger King will open a new restaurant at the Longwell Green retail park.

The company announced the expansion but has not released a specific date yet. It expects the doors to open sometime in early 2027. Job listings for the new location are already available online.

This addition follows a similar announcement made just days earlier. Popeyes, a fried chicken brand, will open a drive-thru restaurant next to the retail park. The new Popeyes unit will occupy Unit 13 on Aldermoor Way. This site is part of the redeveloped Kingswood Trading Estate, near the Costa Coffee location.

The area is undergoing major changes as brownfield land is cleared for new construction. Shoppers have noticed demolition work and the shape of replacement units taking form next to the existing car park. These updates are part of a wider plan to improve the retail park and its neighboring sites.

The retail park currently hosts several major brands. Next, Boots, M&S, and Superdrug are among the existing tenants. Mountain Warehouse and several coffee shops also operate in the complex. Across the A4174 Ring Road, a leisure park features a Vue cinema, a McDonald's, a bowling alley, and various food and drink venues.

Popeyes has operated in the UK since 2021. The brand currently has two restaurants in Bristol. One location in Avonmeads opened in 2025, while a branch in Broadmead opened in May of this year. New UK openings for the brand often draw large queues from customers seeking their fried chicken menu items.
